This aspiring journalist

Although I suffer from c.o.c, comparison outta control, I know what I want. I know that I want to be a writer. Writing is my only passion. I love writing and I love to research. I am a self proclaimed research junky. Yes, what other people think is the worse part of an assignment, I find that it is the second best thing to do (the writing being the first of course) I love being in the know!

This aspiring journalist asks...what is the 'it' topic of interest for me, besides giving into America's guilty pleasure of celebreality. I will only write for entertainment as long as it isn't: 25 Most Shocking Britney moments or anything along those lines. I love music, movies, and television but I am not glued to the set during entertainment tonight or vh1's many specials on various celebrities. Don't get it twisted, I am not holier than thou, I love Best Week Ever and would love the opportunity to be a panelist, however, chasing celebrities and blogging about them is not a passion of mine. So what are my interests? My interest right now is my next article.

Natural hair. My hair is in it's natural state. I love my natural hair, the health, the texture, and the versatility. I don't love how some people are not embracing another unique and beautiful aspect of African American culture. My article will be about natural hair and the controversy that surrounds it. I am still in the research phase. Don't worry...it will be posted soon.

Recent news...Oprah and Will Smith stand behind Obama. I'm not up on the campaign trail so far...I know that when my fall semester starts in 2008 I will be all caught up. That's no excuse though. I should be up on it now. It's a toss up...I am an African American woman and Obama is black and Hilary is a woman. I like how my teacher described it, male, pale, and stale. I wonder if America is ready to let that go yet. We shall see.
